This photo caught my eye & reminded my of a little shoe box of my Mothers. When my Great Grandmother died my Mother received the box. I was an infant at the time. The box contains the most simplistic items: A tiny coin purse with old change, one a buffalo nickel, buttons, pins, vintage jewels, an old blue vick container. It is amazing how these precious treasures open my eyes to my heritage. Never judge an old shoe box by what's in it, but rather, what it represents...I hope that everyone receives an old shoe box in there lifetime; It is a gift.

A Light Exists in Spring

A light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period.
When March is scarcely here

A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That science cannot overtake,
But human naturefeels.

It shows the furthest tree
Upon the furthest slope we know;
It almost speaks to me.

Then, as horizons step,
Or noons report away,
Without the formula of sound,

Spring

I'm always so excited when one season ends and another one begins. It amazes me when the simplest things remind you that once again time has past us by. For instance, yesterday we had a touch of snow, but walking out to my car late last night to grab something I could hear the sound of frogs in the distance and noticed the green tulip bulbs breaking through the cold Earth. It is the little things that remind us to take a deep breath and embrace the peaceful changes that surround us.
